The first 15 years.....and the next 15 years!

What happened  in the first 15 years? 2 Apartments, 2 houses. 4 kids. Hubby graduated from U of U. He had 1 surgery, I had 2. We had 1 parent and 5 grandparents pass away. Lots of fun little vacations and 1 huge/fabulous/marvelous vacation to St. Lucia.
So what will happen in the next 15 years? (this gets kind of scary) Hubby will get his Masters from BYU. We may even move to where ever his new job takes us. Kids will learn to drive, will begin dating and will graduate from High School. All of our children will be grown and out of the house (we hope). There will be missions served and weddings held. We might even be Grandparents by then, hahaha!

All of it sounds good to me!
To celebrate our 15 years together we went out of town and pawned the kids off on my sister (thanks again Shelley). It was a great weekend. Then on the official date of our anniversary we went to a benefit concert for Julie Hendrickson (she is a cousin to Paul Cardall) She had a double lung transplant. There were a few different performers. It was a fabulous night!
(side note=I had a migraine headache that morning, but by 3:00 pm I was doing better, yea)

Here I am trying to take a fun picture of us at the concert and typical hubby....he hates having his picture taken...so this is what I got. Enjoy!!!!!

This is Charley Jenkins, a country singer. Very fun and also a local Utahan:)

This is Lindsey Stirling on the fiddle. She was on Americas got Talent and made it to the top 48! She was so much fun to watch.

Peter Breinholt...got to be honest, when ever I hear his voice I think of Christmas :) I think it is because he has like 4 Christmas Cd's out and they always feature him on FM100. So it was fun to see that he can sing regular music also.

And last but not least.....Paul Cardall. I just love this man!!! He is so amazing on the piano. You need to read his book to fully understand all of the trials he has been through. He is such a generous and giving person, so kind and very personable. When he was signing Cd's he actually talked to  the people, showing a real interest in them and what they had to say. I think he made my top 10 favorite people list :)
So that was our anniversary adventure...many more to come!

Kindergarten registration....last time!

Confession = I have 4 children and last week I went to my FIRST ever Kindergarten registration meeting. Weird you my say....here is the reason why; they always have the meetings on a Friday, at 2:00 p.m. (now how many parents are really home at that time) and they ask you NOT to bring your Kindergartner and other children! Really? And they say "if you are unable to attend just pick up your packet from the office at any time" so that is what I have always done. This has been the first year I have had a child old enough to stay at home and babysit while I go to the meeting. I figured I had missed 3 other ones, maybe I should attend my very last one. Was it worth going to? Not really! They talked mostly about riding the bus (which my kids do not do) a lot about parents volunteering (which I already do) and how you really should make your child come to school on Fridays/short days (I guess a lot of parents don't?). But now I can say I have been to "Kindergarten Registration"....GOOD JOB MOM!

Her first time to the temple :)

You know you are getting old when your child is old enough to do Baptisms for the Dead at the Temple.  Miss.P has been so excited to go and do this, 2 of our friends just happen to be working at the temple that day made it even more special. We had a beautiful time. So of course we needed a picture to prove we went, wet hair and all!

Some girl time

It was my turn to have the Sisters and Mother Party. So I took them to a Laser show at the Clark Planetarium.  We were suppose to see the U2 light show but they changed it the day we went. We ended up seeing the Led Zeppelin light show instead. I know a lot of U2 songs and hardly any Led Zeppelin ones, so I was a little disappointed. The music was a little too loud and the light show can give you motion sickness (sorry mom :) It was fun spending time with the girls any ways.
This would be a picture of what we/I do best DESSERT!!!!! We had dinner at Gateway, a place called Baggi's Ristorante Italiano. Very good food, but make sure you have a reservation!

Turning 10: demands a J.Wride Birthday Party

So what kind of a birthday party does a 10 year old girl want? A Princess party, a Barbie party...no a music concert of course. A J.Wride party to be specific. Some of our really good friends offered to do a private concert for Miss. S! (check them out on Face book to hear their music...amazing)
What birthday party would be complete without J.Wride cupcakes. (we ended up with a chocolate explosion on our hands, or rather the floor, and all down someones shirt. A story for another day)
Miss. S with her friends. They got to go to the concert with us. And now J.Wride officially has 3 new fans!
The J.Wride practice studio, Austin Anderson....playing some awesome drums. Mr. A loved how you could feel the beat through the floor.
Court Eccles rules the bass. Although the girls were a little sad he didn't dance for them...which he usually does at REAL shows.
Jesse sings and plays the piano....the best around (as the girls put it).

Can't end the night without a group picture. These guys did a great job playing for us. (they always put on a good show) We are a little spoiled now.
Miss. S on her big day. She is such a wonderful daughter! Words can't express our love for her. Anyone that knows her can tell you that her smile brightens up a room, she is very sensitive, caring, sweet, understanding, beautiful inside and out. Love you Miss.S

Forever Strong (not the movie)

A little RUGBY anyone?

A friend of ours is one of the coaches for the HIGHLAND rugby team. (in the black and gray)
We got the opportunity to see them play against United. United was the National Champions from 2010.
We had a lot of fun.
You may be asking...Why are there no pictures of my hubby? Well, he likes to TAKE them, not be in them.

So now that you have seen them on my blog, you need to go and watch the movie Forever Strong.  It is based on actual events that happened to the Highland Rugby team. Hopefully we will get to go and watch them play again in June, at the Rio Tinto Stadium for the National Championships :)
