Science fair.

Although it was lots of fun, I have to be honest when I say....I am glad it's all DONE :) Paige did a product comparison for her Science fair project...what gets crayon off the walls the best. She did a great job. Just to let you know...white toothpaste worked just as good as Magic Eraser.

Oh how I have missed you!

Who knew I was so addicted to playing my piano? It is very old (it was my Great-Grandfathers) but lately some keys began to stick, then came some weird vibrating noise when you played certain notes, and it just seemed off. So I saved, and saved, and saved, and finally got it fixed. It sounds so beautiful now. My kids even missed it, they are willing to do their practicing without complaining (miracle). They came 2 weeks ago and pretty much gutted it out and yesterday they returned it. They had to replace all the hammers, fixed the action, and then tune it. It sounds amazing. Well worth the money. So glad its back!

Stake Conference

I just want the world to know that I truly love Stake Conference! The adult session was fantastic. The speakers did an amazing job. They all shared their own conversion stories and that theme carried over into today's session. I admire people that have had such dramatic conversions. I know that every testimony of the gospel comes in different ways and at different times. But I can honestly say that I have always just KNOWN. There have been many events in my life that have helped build up and contribute to the strength of my testimony, but it has always been there. Today was just a great day of reconfirming what I already know to be true!

A few more lessons I have learned

Lets do another top 10.....things I have noticed since Hubby had his surgery!

10. I now get to take and then bring the garbage cans back in from the road (that use to be his job) not a fan of it.
9.  He kind of makes me nervous when he drives one handed (no scarier then the teenager talking on a cell phone I guess :)
8.  I have been spoiled--He always shoveled the snow, now that is my job too.
7. He only wears button up shirts now (for obvious reasons) I kind of miss the polo shirts.
6. He can't be my running partner for at least 3 months(once again I have been spoiled, he always stays at my pace and lets me lead the way)
5. I use to love getting the mail, now medical bills seem to fill the box
4. Ice packs are amazing pain killers
3. Some times he takes his brace off to relax his arm and he reminds me of an injured bird
2. When I make sticky buns (the kind you have to turn over onto a plate after they have cooked) his job was to flip them onto the plate, I had to do it today, and spilled half of the sauce on the stove :(
1. He now sleeps on the recliner (the angle helps his shoulder feel better) after 14 yrs of marriage I had no idea how warm he kept the bed.....I FREEZE AT NIGHT!

OK I am done ranting and raving....I have so many things to be thankful for, but there are days or weeks when you just need to get it all out in the open. Things are going to get better and all of this has helped me realize how lucky I am to have had a healthy hubby for so many years. Once again, I have learned my lesson and there is no need to repeat this :)

Random pics from 2010

A little sleigh riding at Grandma and Grandpas house on Christmas Day.
A dance performance...they were train conductors.

Always need a picture with Santa.

Mr. A turned the big #7. This is a pirate ship KIT that we were able to put together.  He loved it.

From OR to ER :(

Last night Hubby took some medication that didn't quite agree with some other medication he had taken...therefore we ended up at the ER at 3:45 am on 1-11-2011. So trying to be optimistic about the whole experience I decided to write my top 10 things that I learned from being with him in the ER...can't waste a good learning experience. (hopefully that means we never have to repeat it, right?)

Top 10 things I learned while hanging out in the ER~~
10. Blanket warmers are awesome
9.   In ER terms, spending 3 hours there is considered a fast turn over
8.   1-1-2011 is hubbies birthday, not a fun place to celebrate
7.   If it is your birthday everyone that comes into the room (Nurse, Dr, janitor) says "oh, it's your birthday--so sorry you have to be here"
6.    Those nurses who get an IV in place with one try--are your best friend
5.    I had to opportunity to learn what an EKG is
4.    The Dr comes in and take the warm blankets off and NEVER replaces them
3.    If you nervously shake or bounce your knees the nurse will ask you if you are cold, repeatedly
2.    3:45 am is a cool time to arrive at the ER, because that is when EVERYONE shows up
1.    It is inevitable that if you go to the ER your cell phone will only have 1 bar of power left, I promise!

So we should all agree that I have learned some great lessons, there is no need to repeat any of it....EVER!
