From OR to ER :(

Last night Hubby took some medication that didn't quite agree with some other medication he had taken...therefore we ended up at the ER at 3:45 am on 1-11-2011. So trying to be optimistic about the whole experience I decided to write my top 10 things that I learned from being with him in the ER...can't waste a good learning experience. (hopefully that means we never have to repeat it, right?)

Top 10 things I learned while hanging out in the ER~~
10. Blanket warmers are awesome
9.   In ER terms, spending 3 hours there is considered a fast turn over
8.   1-1-2011 is hubbies birthday, not a fun place to celebrate
7.   If it is your birthday everyone that comes into the room (Nurse, Dr, janitor) says "oh, it's your birthday--so sorry you have to be here"
6.    Those nurses who get an IV in place with one try--are your best friend
5.    I had to opportunity to learn what an EKG is
4.    The Dr comes in and take the warm blankets off and NEVER replaces them
3.    If you nervously shake or bounce your knees the nurse will ask you if you are cold, repeatedly
2.    3:45 am is a cool time to arrive at the ER, because that is when EVERYONE shows up
1.    It is inevitable that if you go to the ER your cell phone will only have 1 bar of power left, I promise!

So we should all agree that I have learned some great lessons, there is no need to repeat any of it....EVER!
