Day 17: an art piece

This is a fun project that I just finished not long ago. Silhouettes are all the rage now (or so say they on Studio 5) and I have seen a few Blogs posting about them. There is a lady who will do a Silhouette of your child for $25...now come on! You all know that there is no way I would pay $25 for that....so.... I made the kids sit on the piano bench while I got out a piece of black paper and just cut out their profile. It only took about 10 minutes and was pretty painless for them (those are stickers with their age on them). The problem is any true artist will tell you that a project is never truly "finished" but mearly abandoned for the next project. I must be a true artist because I have taken this off the wall and re-cut parts of it at least 3 times. I finally had to tape the back closed so I wouldn't be tempted to mess with it again. Yet there are days when I look at it and want to rip it off the wall and fix it AGAIN.
