Turning 10: demands a J.Wride Birthday Party

So what kind of a birthday party does a 10 year old girl want? A Princess party, a Barbie party...no a music concert of course. A J.Wride party to be specific. Some of our really good friends offered to do a private concert for Miss. S! (check them out on Face book to hear their music...amazing)
What birthday party would be complete without J.Wride cupcakes. (we ended up with a chocolate explosion on our hands, or rather the floor, and all down someones shirt. A story for another day)
Miss. S with her friends. They got to go to the concert with us. And now J.Wride officially has 3 new fans!
The J.Wride practice studio, Austin Anderson....playing some awesome drums. Mr. A loved how you could feel the beat through the floor.
Court Eccles rules the bass. Although the girls were a little sad he didn't dance for them...which he usually does at REAL shows.
Jesse sings and plays the piano....the best around (as the girls put it).

Can't end the night without a group picture. These guys did a great job playing for us. (they always put on a good show) We are a little spoiled now.
Miss. S on her big day. She is such a wonderful daughter! Words can't express our love for her. Anyone that knows her can tell you that her smile brightens up a room, she is very sensitive, caring, sweet, understanding, beautiful inside and out. Love you Miss.S

Forever Strong (not the movie)

A little RUGBY anyone?

A friend of ours is one of the coaches for the HIGHLAND rugby team. (in the black and gray)
We got the opportunity to see them play against United. United was the National Champions from 2010.
We had a lot of fun.
You may be asking...Why are there no pictures of my hubby? Well, he likes to TAKE them, not be in them.

So now that you have seen them on my blog, you need to go and watch the movie Forever Strong.  It is based on actual events that happened to the Highland Rugby team. Hopefully we will get to go and watch them play again in June, at the Rio Tinto Stadium for the National Championships :)

What is so much fun about a JAZZ game?

It might be the dinner we got to go to for hubbies work. They hold a banquet in one of the suites, they do a prize drawing and have great food (the dessert is always the best ).

It might be the cute Jazz hats they gave all of us.

It might be the very useful umbrella (that looks like the Jazz Bear) that we won.

It might be the Jazz Bear himself...he is always fun to watch.

It might be the fact that we got to go to the game by our selves, with no kids.

I can tell what is not fun about the Jazz game.....the players!!! We lost once again :(

Blinding a fish or two...

This weekend my sister and I took our oldest daughters to get a manicure. While in the waiting room we decided to take a few pictures. While doing so a lady came and informed us that we weren't allowed to take pictures in that room, because the flash would BLIND their fish.  Who knew...so this is the picture of Miss.P and Miss.M and a few blind fish :)

Miss.P and Miss.M had their very first manicure. We are "do it your self" kind of ladies and so this was a huge splurge/deal.
The four of us with our beautiful nails...a good way to make some fun memories. Love these girls!

Just a few thoughts....

This may be an emotional post.....just warning you!

I am full of mixed emotions today. One of my best friends from High School learned that her 4 year old has Rhabdomyosarcoma, Cancer. One of my other friends recently found out that one of her twin babies (that she is still pregnant with) passed away. I am sad!!! For all of their heartache and the feeling that I can't help either of them. I want to take their pain away! It makes me think of my own children and how blessed I truly am. Am I a selfish person for being thankful it wasn't my child?  I am thankful for the gospel and know that they are too. I know that both of these fabulous women have great testimonies and don't need to hear again and again that Heavenly Father is aware of them, to keep their chins up, to keep the faith. It does make it easier with that knowledge but it still hurts. I have had family members go through these exact same things, but it never gets easier. It just makes me want to hug my children, and never let them go. To not let them leave the house, ever. But that is not the eternal plan, I know that. I know there has to be the bad with the good. But sometimes it just seems so unfair. My tears today are for all those families....and the gratitude in knowing mine is an eternal one.
