So this is child #2 baptized. Man it is making me feel old. Shawn messed up on the prayer and had to say it twice, but that made it memorable. We had lots of friends and family that came and helped us celebrate. It was a wonderful day. I am so proud of Shawntell, she has been so excited for this day. Next on the list of things to do: getting her ears pierced!

To have Guns or not to have Guns.
If you have a little boy I am sure you have posed this question. Is it OK to let them play with toy guns, swords, and other toy weapons? Let me just say that even if I had tried to keep them away from our house it wouldn't have done any good. Austin can and does turn everything he touches into some kind of weapon. His latest was turning a ruler into a "flame thrower", he launched Legos from it and knocked things down.
So on Monday night Austin was in charge of the lesson for Family Home Evening. We try to let the kids do their own thing, but require that we have some kind of Gospel meaning in it. So when it came time for the lesson Austin made everyone go to the kitchen table with paper and pencils. We were suppose to draw pictures of guns. Then he says "We are drawing these pictures so we can appreciate that we have guns, because in Nephi's time they only had bows and arrows." At least he got a gospel message in there.

Funerals are great for family reunions.
This past week my Grandmother passed away. (We all called her GG) Her funeral and viewing were up in Idaho. I was able to see so many of my cousins that I haven't seen in 4 years. Since the last funeral. So sad! But we are all kind of spread out and it makes it hard to get together just for fun. But I thought it would be fun to post a few things I remember most about my GG.
1) She taught me how to play Rummy, and how to win.
2) We had to walk to school, and our favorite thing to do was to stop and GG's and warm up by her fire. She always gave us candy.
3) She grew the biggest roses ever.
4) My earliest childhood memory was riding on her big tricycle/bike.
5) We would go over to her house on Sundays and watch Hee Haw and eat popcorn.
6) She had fun coloring books.
7) She loved to go to garage sales.
8) She always looked at my finger nails and compared them to hers. Hers were long and pointy, mine were short and stubby.
9) Her house is the best place to watch the Inkom 4Th of July parade.
10) I don't ever remember her NOT having gray/white hair.
I will miss her, but am glad she is with her sweetheart and my Dad.

10 ways you know your kids are growing up.
1) You know your kids are growing up when their foot is almost the same size as yours (she is 7).
2) You know your kids are growing up when your 5 year old son puts his arm through yours and says you are his date.
3) You know your kids are growing up when your baby no longer wants to take naps.
4)You know your kids are growing up when your oldest needs a bra and deodorant (a must!).
5)You know your kids are growing up when you get a full 7 hours of sleep.
6) You know your kids are growing up when your child asks you to pick a zit for them.
7) You know your kids are growing up when your son asks for a pocket knife for his birthday(so he can get some carving skills, his words not mine).
8) You know your kids are growing up when you no longer have any desire to replace the cracked and broken sippy cups.
9) You know your kids are growing up when your husband does the laundry and can't tell if the jeans are yours or the kids.
10) And last but not least you know your GIRLS are growing up when they are excited to watch Knight Rider because the guy in it is HOT!
