6th grade play

Shawntell was the lead in the 6th grade play, The Taming of the Shrew.
She did a fabulous job :) She had to "tryout" to get the part. She has such a sweet and tender soul that she actually cried when she got the part because one of her friends really wanted it. It was fun to see her perform, she is a natural, unlike her mother that can not hold a straight face even if my life depended on it. Her dad on the other hand was highly involved in theater all through High School and was very good.

A little background, Katherine, the lead character, is very rude to everyone. Her father really wants to get her married off, but he can't find a man that will put up with her bad attitude. A man comes a long and teaches her to be respectful, kind, caring, and loving. Shawntell is all of those things naturally, so to see her be rude, sit on someone, tie their hands and legs together, slap (pretend slap) a kid was so out of character for her. She loved every minute of it.

And being the mom I am...I video taped it...but forgot to take actual pictures, haha. So here is a picture of her standing in front of a picture of her in the play. I'll do better next time :)
