A tutorial wanna be.

I always see these fun sewing/craft projects on other blogs that show exactly how to make/create them. I thought it would be fun to do one of those. So what happened???? I started my fun project and took 1 picture and then didn't take any pictures until the very end :) oops! I was so excited to get my project finished that I forgot to take pictures at every step....so this is more of a "Before" and "After" tutorial. Hope you enjoy...and next time (if there is a next time) I promise to take pictures with every step.

I started out with these cute dress shorts that a friend gave me (they didn't fit her anymore) so I figured if I messed up it was OK, because it didn't cost me anything :)

I never wear dress shorts...I am more of a jean and t-shirt kind of girl. But, I am a church-going girl so I can always use a new skirt....so with a little unpicking, a zig-zag stitch here and there this is what I turned them into:

I even added a few flowers....

So that is my new skirt, it actually turned out better then I thought it would. It wasn't too hard and I would definitely do it again. As far as doing another tutorial....who knows. I am usually more of a copier of crafty stuff, not a lot of original things come from my brain, but there is always the possibility that lightning will strike twice :)
