This past week my Grandmother passed away. (We all called her GG) Her funeral and viewing were up in Idaho. I was able to see so many of my cousins that I haven't seen in 4 years. Since the last funeral. So sad! But we are all kind of spread out and it makes it hard to get together just for fun. But I thought it would be fun to post a few things I remember most about my GG.
1) She taught me how to play Rummy, and how to win.
2) We had to walk to school, and our favorite thing to do was to stop and GG's and warm up by her fire. She always gave us candy.
3) She grew the biggest roses ever.
4) My earliest childhood memory was riding on her big tricycle/bike.
5) We would go over to her house on Sundays and watch Hee Haw and eat popcorn.
6) She had fun coloring books.
7) She loved to go to garage sales.
8) She always looked at my finger nails and compared them to hers. Hers were long and pointy, mine were short and stubby.
9) Her house is the best place to watch the Inkom 4Th of July parade.
10) I don't ever remember her NOT having gray/white hair.
I will miss her, but am glad she is with her sweetheart and my Dad.

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. I'm glad you got to see far away family.
GG sounds like she was a neat lady! How special those memories will become to you over time.
Kristy! I accidently commented above under my friends name. She was on my computer last!
Anyways- I remember your Gma always having such a great smile. I am happy she is having a reunion with her loved ones!
So glad you have good memories of GG. She was a wonderful lady and I love her a lot.
Sorry to hear about your Grandma. Speaking of reunions, are you guys planning to go to the Ashby reunion at Lagoon the end of June?
Thanks for sharing. We wish we could have been there. Grandma was truly loved by so many. Thanks again!
